Thank you for writing such a book! Not many people realize that IA is a violation of women/mother's rights, children's rights, family rights and even father's rights! Separation of families, displacing overseas and closing up records is definitely not in the best interest of children. Adoption lobbyists are misleading the adoptive families, original families and the adopted people by stigmatizing cultures all around the world in order to meet the demand of babies from the countries that are willing to pay upwards $60,000 per child. That money could obviously help huge villages and communities. People must think before they buy. It's a legalized childrens market that needs to stop. I just read an article today how they kidnap young girls, rape them, keep them captive and start bidding off their child for IA. No one will know because there is no records of the child's origins. All they have to do is write 'orphan' on the document, "parents unknown" and then they are ready to be placed on the adoption agencies website. The older children that are adopted overseas in a country they have no idea how to even speak the language, can't even go anywhere or ask anybody for help. It's a corrupt system that needs to stop. Additionally, per the author, an alternative to international adoption is serving inside an orphanage. This very action, and the witness of conditions therein would itself lead one to adopt internationally.
